Nearly 10 000 Zimbabwean citizens arrested during lockdown
A round figure of ten thousand citizens in Zimbabwe have been arrested during the now extended lockdown for failing to comply with the regulations.
Police records reveals that 9889 people have been arrested country for lockdown measures violation with 2000 of them coming from the second largest city Bulawayo.
With basic commodities in short supply it is not easy for Zimbabweans to mains social distancing as they have to wake up each day to catch long queues of mealie-meal.
Bulawayo province has recorded 2 214 arrests , Manicaland province standing at 1975 arrests while Midlands province has 820 , Matebeland North province having 469 Mashonaland Central having 330, Mashonaland East province also having 330 and Masvingo province 252 arrests.
Zimbabwe has not recorded much cases of Coronavirus as 25 have been confirmed positive with 2 people who managed to recover and 3 deaths.
