Hope for Zimbabwe!

Zimbabwe could be that one country that has managed to contain and control the spread of the Coronavirus.

Being one of the poorest countries in the globe, Zimbabwe is having an increase in the number of Covid-19 recoveries and hasn’t recorded any new case in 8 days.

The country responded to the Covid-19 outbreak very swiftly by imposing a nation wide lockdown before the virus began to spread.

The draconian lockdown regulations have surely paid off as the country is not experiencing any new cases.

In Zimbabwe if one is found in public without wearing a facemask they are arrested.

On Monday 115 people in the second biggest city Bulawayo were arrested for not wearing facemasks in public.

The ministry of health has released a statement as of 7May 2020 noting that cases of Coronavirus are still on 34 and a total of 9 people have recovered with four deaths since the outbreak begun.

People are still advised to practice hygiene and put on masks when in public and also maintain a physical social distance.
