72 people have died in Rwanda due to floods caused by heavy rains in the country.

Infrastructure was damaged, this included, five bridges, several houses and farms were swept away.

The floods affected the following districts: Gakenke, Muhanga, Rubavu, Nyabihu, Musanze, Ngororero and Rulindo.

In the neighbouring country Kenya, despite the increase in the number of coronavirus cases, the nation still battles with locusts that attacked various regions in the country since the end of 2019.
