Ramaphosa says he’s not shocked by SA 51% economic shrink
The President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday said the current 51% economic shrink did not come as a surprise to him.
He said this during an online zoom meeting with South African editors from different media Organization.
Ramaphosa said the economic shrink was expected as the Covid-19 pandemic came as a hard blow on the country and the world at large.
He went on to say it’s time to look ahead and work on restoring the economy and also see the silver lining in the pandemic cloud.
Addressing the issue of Corruption which has contributed to the decline of the economy, Ramaphosa said processes are being taken to deal with the issue thoroughly.
‘We are working on promoting transparency and work to curb Corruption in the country, processes around that matter are being done,’ he said.
On the same note of Corruption he added that he knew that some individuals hiked up PPE prices with about 800%, but they were going to deal with them.
