WATCH: Video evidence proving MDC trio ‘faked’ abduction
The saga involving three arrested MDC officials Joana Mamombe, Cecelia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova has taken a new twist with a video disputing their abduction reports going viral on the internet.
The document alleges that the three politicians faked the demonstration and were not abducted.
According to the documentary the girls were monitored through CCTV cameras and data usage to prove that they were not abducted.
The girls are alleged to have gone to a Chicken Inn out to buy food during the day and used data throughout the night during the time they were said to be abducted.
Commenting on the matter Secretary for Information Nick Mangwana said, “We have always maintained that these abductions are fake.
I have just seen a disgusting video showing how that trio set out to malign their country through fakery.
Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation tv yesterday flighted a video claiming evidence of a ‘faked’ abduction by MDC Alliance Trio- Joanna Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova- with CCTV footage showing places the three went at the time they alleged to have been abducted.
Below is the footage;
However, MDC Alliance spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere has refuted this evidence arguing this is propaganda.
In a post on Twitter, Mahere said the video was fake as it has too many gaping holes, more so the fact that ZBC alleges that the MDC activists faked their abduction, s_xual assault and torture, yet national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed to the media that they had been taken into police custody on the 13th of May, the day on which they disappeared.
