Musician and TV presenter Boity Thulo spoke for the first time after the fighting incident with fellow media personality Bujy Bikwa. The Wuz Dat hitmaker confirmed the incident and revealed she was sad about the whole situation.
Boity, who had previously appeared to brush off the incident, returned to social media stating she is a victim of Gender-Based Violence.
The Own Your Throne singer revealed she is ‘in deep sadness’ after being ‘viciously’ assaulted.
Bujy, who is sending the weekend in prison for the assault, has a huge mountain to climb as he faces a serious legal battle. The victim asserted to be following the case with keen interest.
Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed Boity opened an assault case against Bujy but did not shed more light on the matter.
Boity requested some space to deal with the matter privately.
We first reported the fight when eye-witnesses revealed Bujy threw a bottle of alcohol at Boity following a disagreement about sangomas. A vicious battle is said to have ensured, as blood stains coloured Boity’s white top.
The eye-witness went on, “Bujy badly assaulted
Boity , her white shirt had bloodstains, and her face had scars.”
An ambulance arrived to ferry Boity to a hospital in Midrand for admission and dress the cuts she sustained when the bottle hit her face.
After Friday’s bail application was postponed at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court, the former Metro FM deejay is still in police custody.
He is likely to taste freedom again this week as the National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane confirmed Bujy’s matter would return to court this week.
Meanwhile, at the Midrand Police Station remand prison, Bujy, a member of the LGBTI community, refuses to be housed in male cells as she prefers to stay with females instead.
The deejay is known to like to pick fights having been arrested in 2019 for stabbing two neighbours whom he claims were attacking his brother.
