Nay Maps joins Umkhokha as Siphamandla

The year 2021 has been an excellent year for the Uzalo actor’s acting career so far.

Nay Maps has landed yet another role in a new soapie which started airing on Sunday, the 3rd of October at 8 pm called Umkhokha.

The Storyline

Umkhokha is an intriguing drama series that started airing in Mzansi Magic (Chanel 161) on Sunday. The storyline is revolved around a big church in Kwazulu-Natal called Ithempeli Lenkosi.

The church is viewed as a business because of its many followers. The first episode kicks off with news of how the church has signed a lucrative deal with a beverage company.

The head of the church prays for water that his church members drink, the beverage company then bottles the water and then sells it at a profit. The church then gets to share the profits with the company.

The first scene of Umkhokha shows the leader of this mega-church being murdered and the fight for his position begins. It’s a typical story of greed for power, love of money, and betrayals.

Nay Maps (Siphamandla) character

In this drama series, he takes on the character of Siphamandla who has to overcome the very devious schemes of MaMzobe so as to take his place as the rightful successor of the leader of the church.

His character is interesting like all his other characters. Siphamandla, the son of the murdered leader of the church but he is in prison when he receives the news.

Nay Maps gets to work alongside other famous faces in the entertainment industry. His co-stars are Deli Malinga as MaMzobe, Linda Sokhulu as Zodwa,Sthandiwe Kgoroge as MaNzimande, Hope Mbhele as MaBusi, Kwezi Ndlovu as Nobuntu and Sibonile Ngubane as Difa. Nay Maps has been a heartthrob that has graced our screens a lot this year. He has shown his versatility by taking on roles that are challenging.

We have seen him as a Pastor in Uzalo, A gangster in Imbewu and a romantic though conniving in Muvhango.
