Viewers of the eTV popular soap, Imbewu The Seed will have to make some adjustments in their time as eTV has made some changes.
These news, undoubtedly will be good for the viewers of this soap.
The Durban based soap is currently on the 9th season and has gained lot of popularity from viewers. The starring is the seasoned actress, Leleti Khumalo, who does not disappoint in her acting skills.
Since its inception about four years ago, this show aired on 21:30 weekdays but now all that will change.
The eTV channel announced that Imbewu will move to a new timeslot which will be at 21:00 as it makes way for the new show.
The new show which is called, The Black Door, helmed by Mandla N, is an adult content show.
The Black Door is produced by Black Brain Pictures, which is a production company that produces DiepCity and Lockdown.
This show is set to premiere on April 11 and it depicts the world of prostitution. It has been described as raunchy, provocative, dark, risquè and graphic with lots of nudity. This show will have an age restriction of 16 as it is full of raunchy scenes.
This show will be headlined by Zamani Mbatha who played the role of Zamani in Isithembiso and also acted on Rhythm City. He will be joined by Linda Sebezo who acted on Isibaya and Thobani Nzuza who made fame in eHostela and also acted on Uzalo.
The executive producer at Black Brain Pictures, Mpumi Nhlapo said, “It was beautiful crafting the show, because we had imake sure that it is not just about shocking the audience or sensationalism, but at the end of the day narrative is key.
“What’s going to make it different is that the use of sex is for shock factor without devolving into the story. Not only are we going to go there, but we are going to make them anchored stories.”
Nhlapo added by saying that they pushed the production value. They didn’t wabt to be a typical studio shoot so they went big and they built an actual set on location.
