Why ‘Lesedi’ quit Generations
Actress Luyanda Mzazi, who plays the role of Lesedi has left Generations: The Legacy for the third time.
Luyanda took a break from the show for the first time when she fell pregnant in 2019 with her first child.
Her character, Lesedi, who was a teenager at the time also fell pregnant on the show.
The soapie’s spokesperson, Gaaratwe Mokhethi, confirmed her first pregnancy in 2019 and said the 26-year-old was no longer shooting scenes for the popular soapie as she was on maternity leave.
Gaaratwe also stated that her character wasn’t written out of the show and that her storyline will continue.
She told Drum Magazine: “The character Lesedi has been pivotal in telling stories that truthfully mirror our society. The writers will continue shining a light on issues that affect the youth, therefore we urge viewers to continue watching Generations: The Legacy to see how Lesedi’s journey evolves.”
The actress took another break from the show earlier this year when it was reported that she was pregnant with her second child in real-life.
She returned to the show in season seven without her on-screen child, Banele Moroka.
Lesedi is an orphan who was rescued by MamSonto’s orphanage and later adopted by Gog Flo Diale.
The actress has reportedly left the show for the third time to focus on her family and her marriage which is allegedly on the rocks.
In Generations: The Legacy Lesedi leaves for Rustenburg to undergo breast cancer surgery.
Audiences saw her saying her goodbyes to the Diales and her boyfriend, Mpho last week.
A source from the production company revealed that Luyanda dumped Generations: The Legacy again to focus on her career in advertising and TV presenting and her love life.
She failed to score a leading role on Generations The Legacy and had to make a move.
