In spite of everything Sne loves Dhlomo and she will do everything to keep him happy even if it means planning a dinner and pretending to be a loving couple in front of his family and friends.
Sne asked to do a dinner party as Dhlomo wants to show everyone that he is a good person. He is trying to make himself feel better. He doesn’t people to know that he is a monster. Even though Dhlomo is abusive to Sne , he does not see it as abuse.
Dhlomo is not the only person hiding secrets. The truth is , the baby Sne is carrying is not Dhlomo’s – It’s Lindelani’s. While Dhlomo play happy family in front of dinner guests, what will he do when he finds out the truth about the baby’s paternity?
Even Sibiya’s advice of therapy to make his marriage with Sne work and to stop hurting her may not be enough to keep him from harming Sne when he finds out about the paternity. Dhlomo won’t go down without a fight , he will not lose her at any cost.
On an interview Nyaniso a.k.a Dr Dhlomo says that this storyline was both difficult and cathartic to portray. ” My mom left dad when I was 2 years old. While reading this storyline , I realised how much those wounds impacted me and have remained in my body and mine. This an important storyline for all people out there who are victims of domestic violence.

GBV continues to be one of the most notable human rights violations within all societies. GBV is a violence directed against a person because of their gender and both women , men experience gender based violence but the majority of victims are women and girls.
Failure to address this issue of Gender based violence also entails a significant cost for the future. Studies have shown that children growing up with violence are more likely to become survivors themselves or perpetrators of violence in the future.
